Meetings

The next Quilt Club meeting will be on March 5, 2012 at the Fire Station.

Meetings are normally held on the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Fire Station located at 308 W. Jefferson Ave., at the corner of Third St.  Please note that there is a possibility that our meetings may have to move to a different location until June 2012 -- we should know for certain in a week or so.  At the end of the meeting, there are refreshments provided by club members (see "Treats List")

If the first Monday of the month falls on a holiday, the meeting will be held on the second Monday.

The following comprise our regular meetings, along with club business items:

Programs

Each month we hope to have a program -- maybe a member sharing an idea, sewing technique, craft idea, or new notion.  If you have a technique you would like to share with the club, let the Program Chairman know when you would like to be on the schedule.

Show & Tell

Members bring quilt or craft items to show.  Please fill out a form describing your item so the Newsletter Editor will have correct information for the newsletter.  Forms will be available at the meeting or:

. PDF version of form for printing & then filling in

. Word for Windows version (please save this to your computer before you begin typing in your information)

Sunshine

Cards are sent to members who are sick or who have had surgery, or need support from the club.  If you know of someone in our club who should have a card sent to them, contact the Sunshine Chairman.

Blocks

Blocks are made for a club member each month; their name is drawn the previous month.  The member chooses a pattern, colors and fabric, then turns it over to the Block Chairman by the 15th of the month.  The pattern is distributed to any member who wants to make the block.  The blocks are made and returned to the next meeting for the member.  Each month you have the option of having your name be part of the drawing for blocks to be made for you.

Extra Block

The Chairman of this committee chooses a block pattern, hands out the pattern at the meeting, and anyone who chooses to make the block does so and brings the block to the next meeting.  Your name is placed in a drawing and the winner receives all the blocks.

Optional Block

The optional block is made for yourself with fabrics you have chosen.  The Chairman of this committee chooses the pattern each month, hands out the pattern, and gives hints about construction of the block.  You make the block(s) and bring to the next meeting to show.  At the end of the year you will have enough blocks to make a quilt for yourself or someone else.

Name Tags

We hope that you will remember to wear your name badge to the meeting.  If you don't, you may have to put 25 cents into the kitty.
